As the earliest business school in modern China, the School of Economics and Management of BJTU has trained a large number of world-renowned talents and management elites for the past 100 years.
On December 28, 2017, the Academic Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education announced the results of the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, and the three first-level disciplines of the college ranked among the best. Among them, business administration ranks top 10%, ranking A-; Top 20% of applied economics, ranked B+; Management science and engineering ranks in the top 20%, with a B+. The School's economics and management have been ranked in the "World First-class Disciplines of Software Science" list, showing strong comprehensive strength of disciplines. The school was certified by EQUIS in February 2021, AACSB in July 2021 and AMBA & BGA in December 2021. It has become the 116th business school in the world, the 13th in mainland China and the third in Beijing to pass the three major international certifications. It is also the first business school in China to pass the three major international certifications within one year. It indicates that the school quality has reached the internationally recognized first-class level.

Established in 2015, SCHOOL OF RENEWABLE ENERGY is the only demonstration college in the field of electrical engineering (Renewable Energy) in the "Promotion Plan for International Demonstration Colleges of Higher Learning" approved by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Ministry of Education. Based on the School of Electrical Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University and the National Energy Active Distribution Network Technology Research and Development Center, the school aims to improve the internationalization level of students through a full English teaching environment, comprehensive quality education, equal emphasis on innovation ability & engineering quality, and integration of Chinese and Western cultures. Its international educational goals and objectives based on the characteristic, with reference to international standards, establish the international first-class faculty, reform the students training system, for the country's sustainable development strategy and the implementation of the energy development strategy to foster more with international vision, familiar with international rules, to participate in international affairs and international competition of comprehensive talents.
