12月4日，北京海外学人中心联合中共淮安市淮安区委邀请来自10个国家的14名在京外籍专家学者赴江苏淮安，开启了为期2天的“2024在京外籍专家学者‘中国行’—走进淮安活动”。

　　On December 4, Beijing Overseas Talents Center and Huai’an District of Huai’an City of Jiangsu province invited 14 foreign experts from 10 countries in Beijing to Huai’an, and kicked off the two-day“2024 Foreign Experts in Beijing Discover China Tour Huai’an Station Event”.

　　本次活动是2024在京外籍专家学者“中国行”的第二站。第一站我们与专家共同探访了中国八大古都之一的郑州，共同感受出彩中原。这一站我们与外籍专家一起从北京出发，探寻京杭大运河的历史轨迹，来到历史名城“中国运河之都”淮安。

　　在周恩来纪念馆、周恩来故居、吴承恩故居、漕运博物馆和淮安府署等历史景点，外籍专家学者实地感受到淮安的红色基因和数千年的文化底蕴，在青山绿水间欣赏美丽中国新风貌。

　　This event is the second station of the “2024 Foreign Experts in Beijing Discover China Tour”. In the first station, we visited Zhengzhou, one of the eight ancient capitals of China, with the experts and scholars, and experienced the colorful Central Plains together. In this station, we set off from Beijing with foreign experts to explore the historical track of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and come to the historic city of Huai’an, the “Canal capital of China”.

　　In historical sites such as the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Zhou Enlai’s Former Residence, Wu Cheng’en’s Former Residence, the Canal Transport Museum, and the Huai’an Fushu, foreign experts experienced Huai’an’s historical and cultural heritage for thousands of years. They appreciate the landscape of China’s green mountains and clear waters with new glamour.

　　淮安区经济开发区、江苏晟唐显示技术(佰旺高科)有限公司、江苏双环齿轮有限公司和江苏国信苏盐(淮安)压缩空气储能项目向到访的外籍专家学者们展现了淮安蓬勃的发展态势和无穷的发展潜力。

　　来自北京第二外国语学院的阿尔巴尼亚籍教师Mimoza Elezi表示，这次“中国行”活动是一次难忘的经历，自己非常激动能够参观中国伟大政治家周恩来的纪念馆和故居，周总理曾三次访问阿尔巴尼亚，为两国友谊做出巨大贡献。同时，在这次旅行中，自己近距离了解了明代文学家吴承恩和中国历史文化中其他杰出人物，并了解了现代储能科技的前沿发展，收获满满。

　　The Huai’an District Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Shengtang Display Technology (Baiwang High-Tech) Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Shuanghuan Gear Co., Ltd., and the Jiangsu Guoxin Su Yan (Huai’an) Compressed Air Energy Storage Project showcased Huai’an’s vigorous development momentum and immense potential to foreign experts.

　　Mimoza Elezi, an Albanian instructor at Beijing International Studies University, considered the “Discover China Tour” event as an unforgettable journey. She expressed immense excitement over her visit to the memorial hall and former residence of the esteemed Chinese statesman, Zhou Enlai. The late Premier Zhou Enlai, known for his three visits to Albania, played a pivotal role in fostering the friendship between China and Albania. Additionally, during this trip, Mimoza Elezi had the opportunity to know more about the life of Wu Cheng’en, a literary figure from the Ming Dynasty, and to learn about other luminaries in Chinese history and culture. She also gained insights into the cutting-edge advancements in modern energy storage technology, which proved to be highly enlightening.

　　座谈交流会上，北京海外学人中心党委委员、副主任司鹏搏对活动进行了简要总结，他首先感谢了淮安区委的精心组织和热情接待，同时也希望本次到淮的专家畅所欲言，多为淮安发展提出宝贵的建议。淮安区委组织部副部长李军，区科技局副局长房从宝向外籍专家学者们介绍了淮安人才、科技工作的基本情况。与会的外籍专家学者结合两天的实地考察，聚焦“为淮安引才汇智，助力城市新发展”这一主题，围绕京淮人才合作，搭建国际科技交流平台等方面建言献策,为淮安发展贡献北京智力、国际资源。

　　At the symposium, Si Pengbo, Deputy Director of the Beijing Overseas Talents Center, delivered a concise summary of the event. He encouraged the experts in attendance to offer their candid feedback and valuable insights for the development of Huai’an. Li Jun, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Huai’an District Party Committee, and Fang Congbao, Deputy Director of the District Science and Technology Bureau, presented an overview of the talent and scientific and technological endeavors of Huai’an to the international experts. The foreign experts, based on the two-day tour, centered their discussions on the theme of “Attracting talent and introducing intelligence for Huai’an’s new development”. They offered suggestions and recommendations regarding talent cooperation between Beijing and Huai’an, the establishment of an international science and technology exchange platform, and the contribution of Beijing’s intellectual and international resources to Huai’an’s growth.

　　本次“中国行”活动联动中国南北，为京津冀地区和长江经济带进一步搭建沟通渠道，深化交流合作。同时，为在京外籍专家学者提供了一次更加全面感受中国式现代化建设成果和独特文化魅力的机会，以进一步增加外籍专家学者在中国工作生活的获得感和幸福感。未来期待有更多在京外籍专家参与“中国行”活动，以外籍人士的独特视角讲述新的“中国故事”，为中国发展做出更多积极贡献。

　　The “Discover China Tour” event links the north and south of China, further builds communication channels for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and deepens exchanges and cooperation. Besides, it provides an opportunity for foreign experts in Beijing to experience the achievements of Chinese modernization and the unique cultural charm more comprehensively, so as to further increase the sense of gain and happiness of foreign experts working and living in China. In the future, we look forward to more foreign experts in Beijing participating in the “Discover China Tour” activities, telling new “Chinese stories” from the unique perspective of foreigners, and making more positive contributions to China’s development.
