National Center for Children
Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University is a comprehensive 3A pediatric hospital that combines medical care, research, teaching, and health care. Its predecessor is Beiping Private Children's Hospital established in 1942 by Academician Zhu Futang, the founder of China's modern pediatric medicine. The Hospital covers an area of 70,000 square meters, and the floorage is 120,000 square meters. It possesses 970 registered beds, receives an average of 3 million outpatients, over 80,000 inpatients and performs more than 26,000 operations per year. In 2017, the hospital has been approved by the National Health and Family Planning Commission as the National Center for Children's Health, China. In 2019, it was assigned as the National Center for Pediatric Cancer Surveillance to support prevention and control of blood diseases and malignant tumors in children.
Beijing Children's Hospital boasts a strong technical force. It is home to 10 national research platforms such as the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases.etc, 5 national key clinical specialties, 5 municipal key labs, 2 municipal research platforms and 16 municipal medical centers. The hospital has established the consultation center for rare cases and an international teleconsultation center, and maintained a national leading position in diagnosing and treating rare and critical pediatric diseases. Experts from BCH have held the Chairman positions of Chinese Medical Association, Pediatric branch and Pediatric surgery branch.
首都医科大学附属北京儿童医院是集医疗、科研、教学、保健于一体的三级甲等综合性儿科医院，前身是我国现代儿科学奠基人诸福棠院士于1942年创办的北平私立儿童医院。医院总占地面积7万平方米，建筑面积12万平方米，编制病床970张，年均门诊量约300万人次，住院病人8万余人次，手术逾2.6万例。2017年，医院被国家卫生健康委(原国家卫生计生委)批准成为国家儿童医学中心，2019年被批准设立国家儿童肿瘤监测中心，为儿童血液病、恶性肿瘤防控提供大数据支撑。拥有国家级重点学科儿科学，国家呼吸系统疾病临床医学研究中心等10个国家级平台，5个国家临床重点专科，5个北京市重点实验室，2个北京市级研究平台以及16个市级医疗中心。医院设有疑难病例会诊中心和国际远程会诊中心，儿科疑难重症疾病的诊断治疗水平居国内领先地位，担任中华医学会儿科学分会和儿外科分会的主任委员。
